August 9-11th | 9am – 7pm | Mcleese Lake Community Hall, Cariboo Chilcotin Metis Association Summer Music Festival. Saturday Potluck, Camping Available, and admission is by Donation | Contact Arnold Lucier 250-398-8988.

 

August 10th | 8:30am-4:30pm | Barkerville | Canadian National Gold Panning Championships. Barkerville’s special event, celebrating Billy Barkers legendary strike and beginning of Cariboo’s Gold Rush. Gold Panning, games, activities, prizes and more.

 

August 10th | 9am-2pm | Quesnel | 5TH Annual Amazing Race. Be part of an amazing day of fun and adventure. Help the Canadian Cancer Society and Quesnel Hospice Palliative Care. 2 people per team, minimum 16 years old. $200 per team and bring a digital camera.

 

August 11th | 11am-6pm | Xatsull Heritage Village | August Celebration, 2nd Annual Cultural Event. Arts and Crafts, lunch, performances, tours and workshops. Pit cooking demo and dinner. Admission is by donation. Contact Miriam 250-989-2311.

 

August 15, 22, 29th | 6-8pm | Boitanio Park | Performances in the park, admission is free. Every Thursday come watch different artists from around the area.

August 18th | 9am | Centennial Park, 100 Mile House | Be a Kidney Hero, Join the 2013 Kidney Walk organized by the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Fun events with entertainment and refreshments for participants. Contact 1-604-736-9775 ext. 228.

 

August 18th | 10am-4pm | Interlake’s Hall, 7592 Hwy 24 at E. Sheridan Rd. | The 56th Bridge Lake Fair, there will be chainsaws, dancing, music and much more. Adults $2.00, Seniors and Students $1.00. Children under 5 free.

 

August 20th | 8pm-10pm | Scout Island Williams Lake | Scout Island will be holding a healthy by nature evening called “Night Life at Scout Island.” Bats, Beaters, and Bugs. Learn about the wildlife at Scout Island and their active nightlife then see and hear them in action. Bring flashlight that shines RED.

 

August 24th | 12am | Barkerville | Mid Autumn Moon Festival | Traditional Chinese celebration honors Barkerville’s Chinese Heritage with activities all day, entertainment in the evenings with lantern parade at dusk. Contact 1-888-994-3332.
